When to get help
Pause here
Arrange a prompt in-person examination, especially for a child or when close contacts have similar lesions. Avoid direct skin contact with the lesion until assessed. Fever, severe pain, rapidly increasing swelling, warmth, pus or feeling unwell needs same-day care. Do not rely on wart removers, skincare products or self-started antibiotics.
